Donetsk, Aug 19 — DAN. Ukrainian militants shelled the DPR 60 times in the past 24 hours, the Republic’s Mission to the JCCC said.
The enemy used heavy artillery, including of NATO calibers, MLRS systems, and mortars to target 11 townships.
One civilian was killed in Donetsk, four were killed in Gorlovka, two in liberated Svetlodarsk.
Twenty-three were injured, including two children; 21 houses and three infrastructural facilities sustained damage.
On Friday morning, multiple damage was reported in Gorlovka.
Russia started a special military operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the decision was made after the DPR and LPR Heads addressed him asking for help.
The Russian leader said that Moscow is not planning to occupy Ukrainian territory, the only goal is to protect people who have been continuously shelled and subjected to other forms of genocide by Ukraine for eight years. *ot
