Donetsk, May 31 — DAN. Russia has established the federal state unitary enterprise Novorossiya Railways to consolidate the rail networks of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

The instruction to establish the company was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The document, published on the Cabinet’s website on Wednesday said that this “decision would help integrate logistics of the four regions, renew the fleet of rail cars and locomotives and create a consolidated transportation control system.”

Novorossiya Railways will focus on meeting the needs of the state, legal entities and natural persons in railway transportation and works (services) provided by the company. Its property will comprise the railway infrastructure facilities located in the territory of the new regions, according to the document.

The employees of the enterprises Donetsk Railways, Lugansk Railways, Kherson Railways, Melitopol Railways and Donbass Railways can get a transfer to work in the new organization, the Russian government said.

Novorossiya Railways, with head office in Donetsk, will be under control of the Russian Federal Agency for Rail Transport.*jk
