Donetsk, Apr 24 — DAN. Russia’s largest state-owned agro-industrial leasing company will invest two billion rubles ($24.6 million at Russian Central Bank official exchange rate) for leasing agricultural machinery to agribusinesses in the new regions, the company’s press service told the Donetsk News Agency on Monday.

“Rosagroleasing has been actively accepting applications for the acquisition of machinery and equipment from agribusinesses in the Donetsk People’s Republic, ” a press service representative said. “Its total investments in meeting the new regions' needs for basic means of production reach two billion rubles.”

The Company has already consulted food producers on easy-term leasing, application procedure, Rosagroleasing digital services and business specifics, she said.

Earlier, the Russian Agriculture Ministry said that 83 percent of agricultural equipment in the Donetsk People’s Republic had been in service for more than a decade.

Preferential leasing is planned for upgrading the fleet of agricultural machinery. Rosagroleasing which has begun to receive applications from DPR farmers can supply the first farm implements within six months. Agribusinesses in the new regions enjoy a grace period on principal until October 2024, and on interest rates until October 2023. Meanwhile, the Republican leasing company which works with Donetsk customers is ready to accept applications from the Lugansk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.*jk
