Donetsk, Dec 14 - DAN. Workers of the Zasyadko mine located in Donetsk’s frontline Kievskiy district launched a new coalface on Thursday with daily output of 1,000 tons, acting enterprise director Andrey Necheporenko told reporters.
“Today, the 8th eastern coalface has been commissioned. It replaced the 6th which was exhausted on 30 November,” Necheporenko said. “Daily output at normal workload will reach 1,000 tons; the reserves will last for 18 months. Preparations for launching the new coalface were largely successful thanks to DPR authorities’ assistance.”
The coal will be supplied to metallurgical companies and the Zuyevskaya thermal power plant. The coal face is 281 meters long and 0.8 meter thick providing workload for 250 miners. Its reserves are estimated at 420,000 tons. It is the 8th coaface launched in DPR since the beginning of this year.
The launching event was attended by the Republic’s Coal and Energy Minister Eduard Golenko.
Zasyadko mine was commissioned in 1958 and named after Alexander Zasyadko who was USSR Coal Industry minister in 1949-1955. The enterprise is located in Donetsk, Kievskiy district. In March 2017, it went into receivership after Kiev’s refusal to lift the Donbas economic blockade. At present, the enterprise employs about 3,000 people. *jk
