Donetsk, Sep 2 — DAN. The DPR Head Denis Pushilin has signed an amendment to the regulation on currency exchange to establish the 1.25 roubles = 1 hryvnia exchange rate.
The decree amends an executive order dated March 26, and sets the 1.25 roubles = 1 hryvnia exchange rate. Earlier the exchange rate stood at 1.5 roubles = 1 hryvnia.
The Central Bank and other banks accredited in the DPR are to execute non-cash exchange transactions at 1.5 roubles = 1 hryvnia rate until September 6.
The amendment comes into force on September 5.
Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin earlier signed a decree allowing DPR residents to pay their utility bills in the Ukrainian currency.
The Central Republican Bank and other banks in the DPR are ordered to ensure the acceptance of such payments in hryvnias. Decree No 296 was signed on June 16. Payments for goods, works and services in cash hryvnias were made at the rate two roubles per one hryvnia at the time. *ot
