Donetsk, Oct 5 - DAN. DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko took part in launching the steel-making process at Yuzovskiy Metallurgical Plant (YUMZ) on Thursday.
“You know, we’ve only celebrated military success, but today, our country must mark this victory,” Zakharchenko said as he launched smelting. ”What you did with your own hands cannot be called ‘restoration’, you’ve rebuilt it. So I think that we’ve won the battle for this plant. We bow low to you for your efforts and your liking the plant.”
YUMZ is a mainstream steel-making company in DPR; its industrial complex is located on the premises of Donetsk metallurgical plant which sprawls on three areas of the DPR capital: Voroshilovskiy, Budyonnovskiy and Leninskiy Districts.
On 25 June 2016, DPR Council of Ministers ordered to set up the YUMZ state-owned company using the facilities of Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant (DEMZ) private company. Ukrainian authorities shut down DEMZ in early 2014.*jk
