Donetsk, May 31 — DAN. A coal-mining company in the town of Torez in the east of the Donetsk People’s Republic has begun to develop a new coal face, the DPR Coal and Energy Ministry press service reported on Wednesday.

“Lutugino Colliery, a division of the Torezantratsit state unitary enterprise face has commissioned 1st western face of coalbed h7 ‘Kashcheyevsky’, ” the press service said. “It is the third face launched by DPR coal-mining companies this year.”

Its reserves are estimated at 780,000 tons. Daily output is expected at some 1,000 tons. Production will run for more than two years, the Ministry said.

Two new coal faces were launched in Makeyevka and Kirovskoye in February and March, respectively. The Donetsk News Agency earlier reported that the enterprises managed by the DPR Coal and Energy Ministry were expected to produce 3.5 million tons of coal in 2023, while overall coal production, which includes the output of private producers and partnerships will reach some seven million tons.*jk
