Donetsk, Jun 6 - DAN. DPR authorities are in talks with friendly states representatives over opening of foreign banks’ offices in the Republic, DPR Central Bank governor Irina Nikitina said on Tuesday.

“The countries that have recognised DPR are negotiating with us over opening of their banks,” Nikitina said in her speech at the international conference on effective governance problems. “We believe some changes will take place shortly.”

Competitive environment will stimulate more intensive development of the banking sector, she added.

The forum gathered more than 200 people, including 52 foreign guests from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Germany, Cyprus and Ukraine. Activists from Kiev-controlled part of Donetsk Region attended the forum as well. *jk
