Donetsk, Sep 22 — DAN. A three-ruble silver coin dedicated to the accession to Russia of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions has been put in circulation, the Central Bank said in a press release.

“The 925 silver proof coin has a diameter of 39mm; the mintage is 3,000 pieces.   The coin is legal tender of the Russian Federation, obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value, ” the regulator said.

 The reverse side shows page 65 of the Russian Constitution with a background of the Grand Kremlin Palace’s St George’s Hall, the Russian coat-of-arms and the flags of the new regions. The images of the Constitution and the Hall are executed in the technique of laser matting, the coat-of-arms and the text of the Constitution are relief images and the flags are depicted in color. The top and bottom inscriptions along the circumference read “Accession to the Russian Federation” and “September 30, 2022.”

Earlier reports said that the DPR had released a jubilee medal marking the first anniversary of the region’s accession to Russia.

On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions signed international agreement of the accession of the above regions to the Russian Federation. On October 2, Russia’s Constitutional Court announced that the documents conformed to the Fundamental Law.*jk
