Donetsk, Jul 20 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic trade sector is developing dynamically, including in liberated areas, DPR Industry and Trade Deputy Minister Natalia Kozina said on Thursday.

 “As of July 1, 2023, there were 20,490 outlets in the Republic’s trade sector, including 14,357 in retail trade, 11,419 in fixed shop retailing, 2,938 in vending, 792 in wholesale trade, 16,861 in catering and 3,487 in consumer services, ” Kozina said.

There are currently 69 retail chains operating in the Republic which are tremendously popular with residents. Retailers keep expanding their range of goods with 4,000 to 250,000 items on sale as of today, she added. 

In liberated areas, 1,595 outlets are operating, including 1,363 in retail, 107 in catering, and 125 in consumer services, the deputy minister said.

Mariupol has 634 trade outlets.

The DPR Industry and Trade Ministry is working on a market entry plan for chain stores from other Russian regions. Lease contracts for premises have already been signed; their renovation is underway. DPR large chain stores will launch 12 new outlets in Mariupol by yearend.*jk
