Century-old mine in Makeyevka launches new coal face

Donetsk, Aug 22 — DAN. A new coal face has been launched at the Gornyak-95 mine in Makeyevka, the DPR Ministry of Coal and Energy said.

“The reserves of the new coal face are estimated at 120,000 tons of the K-type coal. It is characterized by a very low (up to 0.6%) sulphur content,” the ministry said.

The new face was launched as part of the 10-year development plan. 

The Gornyak-95 mine was opened in 1900. Im 2018, a programme was adopted to develop the mine and create jobs. Types K and OS of coal are produced here. *ot
