Donetsk, May 31 — DAN. Some 100 industrial companies in the Donetsk People’s Republic are idling amid the threat of artillery strikes, and some 230 are operating, said DPR Acting Head Denis Pushilin who had taken part in an expanded meeting of the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry Board.
“We have some 230 operating industrial companies which employ 34,000 DPR residents, ” Pushlin said in a post on Telegram on Wednesday. “About a hundred are not operating because of security issues, but launching them is a matter of time.”
DPR authorities, together with the Industry and Trade Ministry are working on a mechanism to fund more than 50 enterprises that have been damaged in Kiev artillery attacks. In June, the Regional Industrial Development Fund is expected to provide aid worth one billion rubles, he said.
DPR government officials earlier told the Donetsk News Agency that the Fund would start providing grants and loans in the second quarter of 2023.*jk
