Donetsk, Aug 31 - DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 24 times over the past 24 hours firing more than 70 artillery and mortar rounds at DPR territory on Donetsk axis, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Thursday.
“Overall, 24 ceasefire violations by Ukrainian forces have been recorded,” Basurin said. “The enemy used artillery, tank guns, mortars, infantry fighting vehicle cannons and small arms on Donetsk axis.”
“Ukrainian forces fired 14 122mm artillery rounds, one tank gun round, 13 120mm mortar rounds and 43 82mm mortar rounds at seven DPR settlements and adjacent areas,” he said.
One settlement came under fire on Mariupol axis.
A new ceasefire accord came into effect in Donbass from 25 August midnight. The truce was agreed by Contact Group participants in Minsk ahead of the new school year.
According to Donetsk News Agency, it is the 16th Donbass ceasefire since the beginning of the conflict.*jk
