Donetsk, Dec 14 – DAN. Ukrainian forces shelled frontline areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic 864 times over the past 24 hours, injuring one militiaman, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin told a news briefing at Donetsk News Agency on Wednesday.
“Over the past 24 hours, the number of ceasefire violations increased to 864 times. Ukrainian gunmen fired 311 grenade launchers rounds, 288 120mm and 82 mm mortar rounds and eight tank gun rounds,” Basurin said.
“They also used infantry fighting vehicle cannons and small arms.”
Ukrainian forces targeted Zaitsevo in Gorlovka township, Yasinovataya, Dokuchaevsk, western Donetsk, Spartak, Krasnyi Partizan, Oktyabr, Kominternovo, Leninskoye, Sakhanka, Sergeyevka.
"While OSCE SMM Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug was in DPR, Ukrainian forces almost did not use artillery. They fired only four 152mm artillery rounds in direction of Yasinovataya," Basurin said.
Earlier in the day a defense source told DAN that Ukrainian armed forces fired 210 artillery and mortar rounds since Tuesday evening. *ot
