Donetsk, October 13 – DAN. Ukrainian forces have shelled frontline areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic 168 times since Wednesday, DPR Operations Command deputy Сhief Eduard Basurin told a briefing at the DNA news agency.

“The situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic remains tense. Ukrainian forces have violated the ceasefire 168 times in the past 24 hours, using heavy artillery and mortars 127 times in these attacks," Basurin said.

A house in the village of Sakhanka in the south of the country was damaged in the shelling. The outskirts of the village of Yasinovataya and the Trudovskiye village, Petrovsky District, came under Ukrainian fire as well.

A DPR military official earlier told DAN that the Ukrainian army had shelled the republic’s southern villages with 120 mm mortars.
