Donetsk, Oct 19 — DAN. Ukrainian armed formations fired more than 140 projectiles and mortar rounds at Donetsk People’s Republic settlements over the period from 06:00, October 18 to 06:00, October 19, the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes reported on Wednesday.
The enemy targeted nine DPR settlements: Donetsk, Makeyevka, Yasinovataya, Novoselovka, Zaitsevo, Zheleznaya Balka, Yakovlevka, Mineralnoye and Alexandrovka. Ukrainian armed formations expended 143 rounds of ammunition overall using “Grad” multiple rocket launchers, 155mm and 122mm artillery and 120mm mortars.
Two civilians were wounded in Donetsk’s Kirovsky and Petrovsky districts and nine homes and two civil infrastructure facilities were damaged in Ukrainian artillery attacks.
In the previous 24-hour period, Ukrainian armed formations fired more than 200 rounds of ammunition at the DPR killing four civilians and wounding another 14.
The special military operation in Ukraine and Donbass began on February 24, 2022. Its objective is to free the territories occupied by the Kiev regime. As of now, the Russian Federation controls practically the whole Lugansk People’s Republic and large parts of the DPR and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. These regions joined Russia based on the results of the unification referenda which they held in late September.*jk
