Donetsk, Jul 27 — DAN. Kiev forces have shelled the DPR 6,639 times since the February escalation, the DPR Mission to the JCCC said.
“Overall, according to the DPR Mission estimates, Ukraine shelled the Republic 6,639 times, of those 6,308 times using heavy weapons over 161 days, and firing a total of 54,717 shells” the report reads.
The enemy used Tochka-U missile system, Grad, Smertch, Uragan MLRS and heavy artillery.
A total of 5,805 residential houses and 1,298 civilian and vital infrastructure facilities, and 700 vehicles sustained damage.
Ukraine has been carrying out a military crackdown against Donbass since 2014. Multiple announcements of ceasefires failed to stabilize the situation. The simmering armed conflict escalated rapidly in February this year, and sent Donbass barrelling towards an unprecedented bloodshed.
Russia intervened on February 24 by launching a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine and bring peace back to Donbass. *ot
