Donetsk, Jun 1 - DAN. Ukraine is not ready to discuss indefinite ceasefire in Donbass, DPR envoy to Minsk talks Denis Pushilin told reporters on Thursday.

“You know, we often meet them halfway, perhaps at all stages of our negotiations, in all subgroups.” Pushilin said, “Regrettably, Ukraine’s policy is somewhat destructive; they are not ready for indefinite ceasefire talks.”
He believes that Minsk agreement guarantor countries - Russia, France and Germany - should put pressure on Kiev to secure substantial results in this issue.

“For our part, we’ll negotiate the ceasefire (at the next Contact Group meeting in Minsk - eds DAN), focusing on August,” the envoy said. “We observe seasonal tensions every time, so it’s important to work out a prevention mechanism. Of course, we hope for the Normandy Four format,” he said.

On Wednesday, the conflicting parties agreed a ceasefire in Donbass effective from 00:00 on 1 June. The accord was reached ahead of International Children’s Day marked on 1 June.*jk
