Donetsk, Jan 30 — DAN. Russian forces have consolidated their positions in the eastern part of Ugledar, Donetsk People’s Republic Acting Head Denis Pushilin said on Monday.
“Our units continue to advance on the Ugledar axis; now we can say that they have gained a foothold in the eastern part of Ugledar, ” Pushilin said on Russia 24 new channel.
Ugledar is located 50 kilometers southwest of Donetsk. It was founded as a settlement of miners in 1966 and had a population of up to 15,000. Kiev deployed a large number of troops in the town which is an important strategic location for enemy supply lines in the region.*jk
