Donetsk, Jan 18 — DAN. Ukrainian forces have been dislodged from the positions east of the Opytnoye settlement which is located between Donetsk and Avdeyevka, Donetsk People’s Republic Acting Head Denis Pushilin said on Wednesday.

“Our units continue to advance. The Avdeyevka axis remains a priority; we succeeded in dislodging the enemy from the positions east of Opytnoye and developing the bridgehead, ” Pushilin told Channel One.

The liberation of Opytnoye by Russian troops was reported in mid-November 2022.

The Opytnoye settlement is located between Donetsk and the Ukraine-controlled Avdeyevka. Ukrainian armed formations built fortifications in the area in the beginning of the Donbass conflict. The enemy delivered fire from positions in Opytnoye at Donetsk’s Kievsky and Kuibyshevsky districts, Makeyevka’s Chervonogvardeisky district and Yasinovataya outskirts.*jk
