Donetsk, Apr 7 – DAN. The security situation in escalating exponentially, DPR Head Denis Pushilin said at his press conference.

"The situation along the contact line remains extremely unstable, unfortunately, and is developing exponentially, gets worse. The number of shelling accidents is growing," he said.

Pushilin linked the growing tension with USA and other western countries representatives visiting Ukraine.

"We are used to it that when some high-rank European or American "guests" arrive with sorts of excursions, I can't find another word, a certain demonstration from the Ukrainian armed forces begins, most probably, on command," he said.

According to Pushilin, the DPR has been increasingly targeted by Ukrainian shelling in the first quarter of the year, the intensity of strikes doubled compared to the last quarter of 2020.

The security situation in Donbass has degraded over the past few weeks. On Tuesday, Vasilyevka outskirts were targeted with Ukrainian shelling and some towhships remained without power or water supply.

A five-year-old child was killed in Aleksandrovskoye on April 2 as Ukrainian forces dropped an IED from a drone. *ot
