Donetsk, Nov 24 — DAN. Ukrainian forces shelled Donetsk People’s Republic settlements more than 20 times on Thursday morning expending over 100 rounds of ammunition. 

Donetsk and Gorlovka came under massive artillery fire at around midnight; civil infrastructure was damaged in the Kievsky and Voroshilovsky districts of the DPR capital.  At 4:10 a.m., six 155mm (NATO standard) projectiles were fired at Donetsk’s Kuibyshevsky district. Three hours later, the enemy opened fire at Gorlovka, and an hour later at Donetsk’s Kievsky district. Massive artillery fire has continued unabated since.

By Thursday afternoon, strikes had been delivered at the Kirovsky, Kuibyshevsky, Kievsky and Petrovsky districts of Donetsk, Makeyevka’s Chervonogvardeisky and Kirovsky districts, Gorlovka’s Nikitovsky district and the settlements of Ozeryanovka, Panteleimonovka, Troitskoye and Mineralnoye. Ukrainian armed formations used “Grad” multiple rocket launchers, 155mm, 152mm and 120mm artillery and mortars.

Artillery attacks damaged four single-family homes and cars in Donetsk and a 330kW electrical substation in Makeyevka which caused power outages in parts of the town. In the Golmovsky settlement, two boiler houses were left without power and one house was damaged. Another power outage occurred at the Verkhnekalmiusskaya Water Treatment Plant. No civilian casualties have been reported so far.

In the previous 24-hour period, Ukrainian army units fired more than 200 rounds of ammunition at the DPR wounding two civilians. One of the victims later died of his wounds.  Ukrainian artillery also damaged 28 houses and three civil infrastructure facilities in DPR towns and districts.
