Donetsk, Apr 14 - DAN. Five Donetsk People’s Republic militiamen have been killed and 12 have been wounded in clashes with Ukrainian invaders over the past 24 hours, DPR People’s Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Thursday.

“We regret to inform that in the past 24 hours, five DPR defenders were killed in the line of duty,” Basurin said.

Another 12 DPR militiamen were wounded in the designated period, he added.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation aimed at demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. On the same day, the DPR and LPR militias supported by Russian forces began to liberate the occupied areas of Donbass. As of now, 160 settlements have been liberated in the DPR. *jk
