Donetsk, Jun 16 — DAN. Ukrainian forces have shelled the Donetsk People’s Republic territory 77 times over the past 24 hours causing civilian casualties, the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Thursday.
The enemy used “Grad” multiple rocket launchers, 155mm, 152mm and 122mm artillery and 120mm and 82mm mortars on the Donetsk and Gorlovka axes expending 386 rounds of ammunition overall, the JCCC said.
Fire was delivered at Donetsk’s Kuibyshevsky and Kievsky districts, Gorlovka’s Kalininsky, Tsentralno-Gorodskoy and Nikitovsky districts, Makeyevka’s Chervonogvardeisky and Kirovsky districts, Yasinovataya and its suburban settlements of Dolomitnoye, Zaitsevo, Golmovsky, Ozeryanovka, Panteleimonovka, Verkhnetoretskoye, Mineralnoye, Yakovlevka, Yelenovka and Kremenets.
An elderly woman was killed and one woman was wounded in the Zemlyanki neighborhood in northern Makeyevka. The shelling damaged 46 houses and seven infrastructure facilities in Donetsk, Makeyevka, Gorlovka and Verkhnetoretskoye.
In the Lugansk People’s Republic, seven civilians have been killed and another 17 have been wounded in strikes by Kiev forces over the past 24 hours, the LPR Office at the JCCC said. There were children among the casualties. The enemy fired 22 “Uragan” multiple rocket launcher rounds from the Ukraine-held Artyomovsk (Donetsk People’s Republic) at the town of Stakhanov and the villages of Troitskoye and Krinichnoye. Sixteen apartment houses, two single-family houses, a kindergarten and a supermarket were damaged in the town.*jk
