Donetsk, Apr 28 — DAN. A callup commission on the mobilization of Russian citizens has been set up in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The commission is chaired by DPR Head. The Republic’s military commissar is deputy head of the Commission; the secretary is an employee of the regional Military Commissar’s Office, according to the decree published on DPR Acting Head Denis Pushilin’s official website.

It also includes representatives of the DPR Interior Ministry and the regional department of the Federal Security Service, head of the Military Medical Examination Center under the Military Commissar’s Office and the DPR’s first deputy prosecutor.

The decree orders to set up conscription commissions across the DPR in accordance with its administrative structure. The heads of the local administrations are authorized to appoint callup commissions in their areas.

The Conscription Commission has been set up for enlisting citizens in the military or sending them for civilian employment in the Russian forces and military formations or bodies during the mobilization period.

Pushilin signed the decree on April 28, 2023.

Earlier, DPR authorities approved conscription measures in 2023 to register citizens of fighting age and reservists without sending them to army units. Under the federal law on the DPR’s accession to Russia, conscription to military service in the DPR begins from 2023. In March 2023, chairman of the Russian parliament committee on defense Andrey Kartapolov said that there wound be “no army callups in the DPR, LPR and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions until further notice.” *jk
