Donetsk, Mar 30 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Head, DPR supreme commander-in-chief Denis Pushilin observed the training of People’s Militia units at a firing range on Tuesday, the DPR leader’s official website reported.

The training session involved more than 500 militiamen, including tank crews and artillery and infantry units.

“In the course of his visit to the firing range, Pushilin assessed combat training organisation. He observed air defence crew training and joined the practice session to fire small arms at airborn targets. Pushilin then went up to an observation post from which the commander directed militiamen’s actions.

The head of state inspected the equipment of a mobile company which had been set up earlier this year based on the Karabakh conflict experience, visited an artillery fire control centre, and fired an SVD sniper rifle in qualification shooting. Pushilin wrapped up his visit as he inspected tank crews in training.

“We now have regular exercises due to the threats caused by Ukrainian aggression,” he said. “Our units are always on standby. As for this exercise, I’d say it can be given a nearly excellent grade. There’s still room for improvement, but I’m pretty sure that the fighters are ready for any developments.”

Earlier reports said that the DPR Head observed the combat training of militia units at a firing range in Gorlovka.*jk
