Donetsk, Feb 7 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin has visited People’s Militia frontline positions on Monday.

“I’ve visited guys on the frontline today,” Pushilin wrote in his Telegram channel. “They confirmed the massing of manpower on the Ukrainian side of the contact line.”

”I saw calm confidence in the experienced fighters which is not surprising as 60 percent of them have been serving since the time of militia troops,” he said.

They asked if the period of service in militia ranks would be added to pensionable service. “Of course;  the duty of the state is social protection of servicemen and their families,” the Head of the Republic said.

Tensions in Donbass have been mounting since mid-January. After the New Year and Christmas holidays, Ukrainian forces stepped up strikes in Donbass and began to deploy reinforcements to the region. The DPR militia said that the enemy is preparing an offensive against the People’s Republics. *jk
