Donetsk, Feb 1 - DAN. The Donbass contact line situation remains dire, Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin said in an interview to the Donetsk News Agency.

“One can say that the frontline situation is dire with nearly daily provocations by Ukrainian forces,” Pushilin said. “The pre-requisites for worsening are ever present.”

He underlined that the DPR forces, facing possible aggravation of the situation, were ready for any scenario. Last week, the DPR held a civil defence exercise involving personnel of the Republic’s Emergencies Ministry, Interior Ministry, Transport Ministry and Health Care Ministry. Pushilin said that he was pleased with the drill results by and large.

“The exercise results can be rated as good. Shortcomings have been exposed; the work to eliminate them is already underway,” he added.
