Donetsk, Oct 9 — DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic residents who are doing compulsory military service will not be sent to the frontline, DPR Head Denis Pushilin said following a meeting with regional ministers and local authorities on Monday.
“Due to many questions regarding autumn conscription, I ordered the DPR Military Commissar’s Office to publish comments in the media on the call-up procedure emphasizing the fact that the conscripts will not participate in combat, ” Pushilin wrote on Telegram.
Russia earlier announced autumn conscription in which the Defense Ministry said 130,000 residents would join the army. Under federal constitutional law on the DPR’s accession to Russia, conscripts from this region will be enrolled for military service for the first time starting 2023.*jk
