Donetsk, Dec 22 – DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ‘school ceasefire’ 210 times over the week firing 1,430 rockets, mortar and artillery rounds, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Friday.

“Overall, 210 ceasefire violations by Ukrainian forces have been recorded,” Basurin said. “The enemy fired 1,430 rockets, artillery, tank guns and 120mm, 82mm mortar rounds.

The enemy targeted 25 frontline townships in DPR, damaging at least 54 buildings including a school, a kindergarten and a hospital.

The DPR Operations Command reported earlier that Kiev forces violated the ceasefire 30 times over the past 24 hours.
The sides have agreed to the ‘school ceasefire’ as the new academic year was to begin in Donbass on September 1. It came into force at midnight August 25. It has not proved to be durable, thought in the first hours the security situation along the contact line stabilized.

The Joint Centre for Control and Coordination and DPR Operations Command use different methodologies to count the number of ammunition rounds used by the Ukrainian army. Whereas JCCC monitors the use of all ammunition types, DPR Operations Command only records large caliber ammunition impacts.*ot
