Donetsk, Mar 17 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations have opened fire at the Donetsk People’s Republic 34 times over the past 24 hours, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Thursday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations delivered 34 strikes firing 331 rounds of ammunition,” the report said.

The enemy used multiple rocket launchers, 122mm artillery and mortars. Seventeen settlements and their outskirts came under fire including Donetsk, Gorlovka, Yasinovataya and Dokuchayevsk.

“Two civilians have been killed and another 13 have been wounded; of those, 11 casualties were reported in liberated areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the JCCC said adding that 50 houses and four infrastructure facilities had been damaged.

In the previous reporting period, the enemy expended 179 rounds of ammunition in 23 strikes at the DPR.

In the morning, damage was reported to transmission lines of water supply facilities in the Yasinovataya area.  A power outage occurred at the Verkhnekalmiusskaya Water Treatment Plant which remains the only water supply source for the DPR capital and its suburbs. At present, water supply to Donetsk is suspended. The authorities have arranged water delivery to city districts. *jk
