Donetsk, Mar 1 — DAN. The project titled “Cultural Aspects of Russian Identity” which aims to restore cultural ties between the new Russian regions will be launched in mid-March, the  press service of the Donetsk People’s Republic Culture Ministry reported on Wednesday.

The project was prepared by the center for advanced training of cultural workers and the DPR Culture Ministry with the assistance of the Russian Center and the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.

“We, the DPR residents, understand how important it is to preserve the history, culture and traditions of our region, ” the press service quoted Russian Center Executive Director Yelena Yevseyeva as saying. “The project envisions the retraining of cultural workers. Lectures will be read by experienced speakers who began the Russification of the cultural sphere in 2014 and continue to perfect it up to date while sharing the experience they gained during the time of fighting in Donbass. The participants bear the great responsibility to preserve and disseminate the information about the life in the new Russian regions. It’s absolutely unique knowledge, unparalleled solutions to fully involve the colleagues from the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions in modern Russian culture.”

The project is focused on preserving national traditions and values and seeking ways to develop the Russian culture. It includes various events which take the benefit of longtime experience in museum, library, recreational, cultural and education activities. The number of participants is expected to reach 850. Training will be provided in the mixed online and onsite format, with trainees’ trips to Rostov-on-Don.

The Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives was established in 2021 by President Vladimir Putin’s decree. Its main objective is to support projects in the spheres of culture, arts and creative industries. The Foundation organizes contests and awards presidential grants to the winners.*jk
