Donetsk, Mar 6 - DAN. A large Art Teacher’s Training Centre can be set up in Donetsk as part of the Donetsk People’s Republic’s development programme, the election platform of DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko.

The initiative was brought forward by S.Prokofiev Donetsk State Music Academy acting rector Roman Kachalov at a meeting with teachers and parents of talented DPR children on Tuesday.

“Our meeting addresses DPR culture development prospects as well as teaching optimisation processes,” Kachalov said. The Academy has worked out a development plan for 2017-2022 to fully realise its potential. We intend to establish a large art teacher’s training centre in Donetsk to boost the country’s intellectual potential.”

The rector said that the Academy has already drawn a list of prospective candidates for PhD degree in arts who will be trained at the Centre in the future.

Acting DPR culture minister Mikhail Zheltyakov took part in the meeting.

Earlier, DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko called for drawing a long-term DPR development strategy and its broad public discussion. The Donetsk Republic social movement took up the job of arranging public debates. DPR development proposals are expected to make up the basis of Zakharchenko’s election programme.*jk
