Donetsk, May 5 — DAN. Art-Donbass, a Donetsk-based museum of arts has presented the exhibition “One Victory for All” in the runup to the Victory Day on May 9, Museum Director Yekaterina Kalinichenko told the Donetsk News Agency on Friday.
“It’s a collection from the museum repository, mostly drawings and paintings acquired over the past seven years, ” Kalinichenko said. “Importantly, it contains the Victory Day series. It was created in 1973 by our Donetsk graphic artists for the big exhibition that was presented in various parts of the Soviet Union.”
It includes the works of Vladimir Shendel, Gennady Zhukov, Viktor Semisenko, Konstantin Chernyavsky and Vlaidmir Moskvichev, she said.
Other exhibition pieces were created in the period from 1943 to the 1980s. The sculpture “Memory” by Natalia Fomenko is displayed among young artists’ works. It depicts a boy carrying a portrait of his grandfather who fought in the Great Patriotic War.
The exhibition features some 20 paintings and sculptures by Donetsk artists. It opened on Friday and will run until the end of May. *jk
