Donetsk, Oct 1 - DAN. Representatives of the OSCE, the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination and the International Committee of the Red Cross found themselves in the field of fire delivered by Ukrainian forces at the Kominternovo village in the south of the Donetsk People’s Republic on Tuesday, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported.
“Today, the repair teams accompanied by a group of personnel from the DPR Office at the JCCC, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine and the International Committee of the Red Cross went to the power supply repair site in the village of Kominternovo,” the report said. “Despite the agreed truce, Ukrainian forces opened small arms fire.”
There were no casualties, according to preliminary reports. Donetsk sent a new ceasefire request to Ukraine.
The Donetsk News Agency sent an enquiry to the ICRC and the OSCE SMM.
The Ukrainian army continues to shell the Donetsk People’s Republic despite the ceasefire accord reached in July. Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 15 times firing more than 50 rounds of ammunition at DPR areas.*jk
