Donetsk, Sep 25 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic will make all efforts towards making Kiev fulfil the Minsk Agreements, acting DPR Foreign Minister, the Republic’s envoy to the Contact Group in Minsk Natalia Nikonorova said in an interview to the Donetsk News Agency.

“Our key task in the Minsk process is to make Ukraine fulfil its obligations under the Package of Measures in interaction and coordination with Donbass, as the peace plan envisions,” said Nikonorova, who took the post of the DPR’s envoy to the Minsk talks on September 12.

Unlike Kiev, Donetsk invariably takes a constructive position at the negotiations, she added.

“Ukrainian representatives are stubbornly unaware of the fact the the Package of Measures is a binding document approved by the UN Security Council. No matter how much Kiev wants to waive its commitments, it won’t work, they’ll have to fulfil all the accords spelled out in the Minsk Agreements and we’ll continue to make efforts to have it done,” the DPR official said.

The Agreements dated and September 5 and 19, 2014 and February 12, 2015 forged by the Contact Group in Minsk make groundwork for a peaceful settlement of the Donbass conflict. The Contact Group set forth a peace plan and agreed a ceasefire, then adopted the Memorandum on ceasefire implementation and later on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements. It envisioned immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in Donbass, withdrawal of heavy weapons, establishment of security zones, discussion of the modalities for the resumption of payment of pensions and allowances to DPR and LPR citizens, and constitutional reform in Ukraine which should result in deep decentralisation.*jk
