Donetsk, Sep 23 - DAN. The US possible decision to supply lethal weapons to Ukraine can hamper a peaceful settlement of the Donbass crisis, head of DPR delegation to Minsk talks Denis Pushilin said.
"(Lethal) weapon supplies to Ukraine can dramatically hamper a peaceful settlement process. Yet US upper house (Senate) has to pass the bill, so it is not decided yet, there is some uncertainty," he specified.
US Congress House of Representatives on 22 September approved the Stability and Democracy for Ukraine Act which provides for strengthening sanctions against Russia and allows supplies of lethal weapons to Ukraine. Before that the USA supplied Ukraine with defense equipment, uniforms and military instructors only. NATO ex-Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen mentioned it earlier.
