Donetsk, Feb 3 – DAN. DPR principal envoy to Minsk negotiations Denis Pushilin addressed Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office to the Contact Group Martin Sajdik with an urgent official letter asking him to contribute to stabilizing the situation in Donbass after Kiev forces opened intense fire on DPR this night.
"This night, after Kiev forces opened fire using heavy artillery, I personnaly addressed Martin Sajdik in written, naming all cases of shelling, fatalities and damage, that had been reported after the Contact Group concluded it was necessary to call for a ceasefire and issued a statement urging (for a ceasefire)read out by Sajdik after the meeting of the Contact Group. So I addressed him so that he takes substantial measures to stabilize the situation," Pushilin told DAN.
He added he had received a reply from Sajdik. According to Pushilin, the OSCE Special Representative passed the request to the coordinators of the working groups and directly to the Foreign Ministry of the OSCE presiding Austria.
"Still there are no particular actions. I am in contact with Alexander Hug (The Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine) since this night, we try to find an effective mechanism to halt escalation".
The previous evening Ukrainian army opened 152mm artillery fire and MLRS Uragan fire on all DPR territory. Over 1200 shells and rounds hit the Republic. Two civilians were killed and 13 wounded in Kalininskiy district of the capital, including two children, today another civilian casualty was reported in Kievskiy district.
