Donetsk, Oct 12 - DAN. OSCE Special Monitoring Mission gave contradicting comments on the reported car accident involving OSCE SMM Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug’s motorcade and a Ukrainian army vehicle in Avdeyevka area.
DPR representatives at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination said on Thursday afternoon that a SUV in Hug’s motorcade had collided with a Ukrainian armoured personnel carrier in the vicinity of Kiev-controlled Avdeyevka.
"A minor car accident occurred between Karlovka and Orlovka at 11:30 on 12 October involving an SMM patrol and a Ukrainian army vehicle. There were no casualties. The SMM patrol continued its mission. Details will be provided in daily report", OSCE SMM said.
Meanwhile, head of the Mission’s Donetsk Office Olga Skripovskaya told DAN on Thursday that there had been no car accident near Avdeyevka. “No, nothing of the kind happened,” Skripovskaya said.
Alexander Hug visited Donetsk on Thursday. A media scrum is planned. *jk
