Donetsk, Feb 19 - DAN. Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in Trilateral Contact Group Martin Sajdik visited the Donetsk People’s Republic to discuss the security situation in Donbass with the Republic’s leadership, the DPR Foreign Ministry told the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.

“Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine Martin Sajdik visited Donetsk,” the Foreign Ministry said. “In the course of the visit, Mr Sajdik and the Republic’s leadership discussed the key issues of a peaceful settlement in Donbass and the general security situation in the region.”

DPR diplomats expressed the hope that the visit would enable the high-ranking OSCE official to “assess in person the damage to the DPR civilian infrastructure caused by Kiev forces and step up the Contact Group’s work in Minsk.”

“It is particularly important in the runup to the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly for which the Donbass conflict will be the central issue,” the Ministry said.

Sajdik visited the DPR on February 15-16. His first visit to the Donetsk People’s Republic took place in June 2017.*jk*pp
