Donetsk, Jul 6 - DAN. Ukrainian representatives in the Contact Group humanitarian subgroup have not changed the tone of negotiations since the appointment of new coordinator for the OSCE Charlotta Relander, Donetsk People’s Republic ombudswoman, DPR representative in the subgroup on humanitarian issues Darya Morozova said on Tuesday.

“The latest session of the subgroup which new coordinator for the OSCE Charlotta Relander moderated for the first time, made no headway,” Morozova said. “The key changes that occurred within the group have not become an impetus for Ukraine to change the tone of negotiations. Kiev delegation representatives continue to block the key items on the agenda.”

The ombudswoman added that she had told Chalotta Relander about the situation that had developed in the DPR as a result of Ukrainian aggression.

“I provided information to Mrs Relander about the number of our citizens who were killed, wounded or disabled by Ukrainian armed formations’ strikes. I also cited the refugee figures, the number of missing persons and the amount of damage caused to houses and social infrastructure,” Morozova said.

These figures are important not only for understanding the scope of the humanitarian crisis in the region. It is the evidence of the genocide against the local population; I'm confident that it shapes the objective idea about the events happening in Donbass and their consequences,” she said.

The humanitarian subgroup video conference took place earlier in the day.

Charlotta Relander replaced Swiss diplomat Toni Frisch who has been coordinator of the humanitarian subgroup for the OSCE since 2015.  Relander was born in Finland. She occupied various posts at the International Committee of the Red Cross, United Nations and Finland’s Foreign Ministry. She headed offices of the international humanitarian organisations in Tajikistan and Peru. She is proficient in English, French, Spanish, Swedish and Russian.*jk
