Donetsk, Nov 29 – DAN. The Ukrainian side in the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) failed to provide security guarantees to the members of the UN, OSCE and ICRC who planned to travel to the townships outside Gorlovka occupied by the Ukrainian armed forces.
"The OSCE SMM, UN and ICRC left DPR-controlled Golmovskiy township failing to receive safety guarantees from the Ukrainian side in the JCCC, as they planned to visit townships north of Gorlovka aggressively occupied by the Aidar nationalistic squad," said DPR representative at JCCC Ruslan Yakubov.
He said international observers were on their way to Gladosovo and Travnevoye to monitor the situation there and speak to locals. The ICRC members planned to distribute humanitarian aid. DPR made all necessary preparations to facilitate the visit.
"As we left the zone under our control, the ICRC members were stopped by the Ukrainian army members who denied passage to them alleging the visit had not been coordinated and citing mine threat," Yakubov said.
The JCCC had previously received oral and written safety guarantees from the Ukrainian side.
The security situation around Gorlovka has deteriorated recently. Last week, Ukrainian units occupied two townships in the so-called grey zone, Gladosovo and Travnevoye. Relocation of military equipment and arms to the area has been reported. *ot
