Donetsk, Nov 6 – DAN. The US special representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker's rhetoric over the UN mission in Donbass might be behind intensified Kiev's shelling on Donetsk, the Republic's representative at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov said.
"One of the reasons behind deteriorating security situation is the discontent of Ukrainian territorial battalions with Volker's suggestion Kiev should not come up with a competing draft resolution to UN in response to the Russian document," he said.
Security situation has deteriorated the previous evening, as Kiev forces used heavy artillery to shell Donetsk and its neighborhood. A civilian has been injured, households and infrastructure damaged.
Earlier, on November 3, Volker suggested Ukraine should not make a competing resolution on the UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas in response to the Russian initiative, and try to reach an agreement. *ot
