Donetsk, Apr 12 - DAN. Finnish documentary journalist Kati Laukkanen asked the DPR centre in Helsinki to help her receive accreditation in the Republic to shoot a documentary about Donbass, head of the Centre, rights activist Johan Backman told the Donetsk News Agency.
“The Centre receives regular requests for permission to shoot documentaries in the Donetsk People’s Republic territory. For example, documentary journalist Kati Laukkanen asked us to help her receive accreditation to shoot a documentary about Donbass women fighting and working,” Backman said.
He also mentioned Moscow journalist and producer Sergei Chetvertnoy’s plans to shoot a film about Finns’ participation in the conflict. No details were disclosed.
Earlier reports said that Finnish volunteers who had taken part in defending Donbass from Ukrainian aggression planned to publish their war memoirs.
The DPR centre in Finland, de facto set up in autumn 2016, has mostly performed functions in the human rights sphere. The Centre was officially launched on December 9, 2017. It is headed by Finnish rights activists Johan Backman.
