Donetsk, May 30 – DAN. The DPR troops might be deployed back to Petrovskoye positions if Ukrainian army fails to comply with the Framework decision on the disengagement of forces and hardware, the DPR mission to the JCCC said after today's Contact Group meeting in Minsk.

"The only effective measure to implement the Framework Agreement is to withdraw Ukrainian forces from the Petrovskoye area and dismantle their new positions. Otherwise, The Republic will have to redeploy troops and equipment to initial pre-disengagement positions."

Earlier the DPR said the Ukrainian side had derailed the implementation of the Framework decision on the disengagement and the SMM reports confirmed the derailment in all the three pilot areas.

LPR and DPR representatives initialed a Framework Agreement on pullback of forces in Donbass on September 21-23, 2016, which was also signed by representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE. The document provides for three disengagement areas around Zolotoye, Stanitsa Luganskaya (LPR territory) and Petrovskoe (DPR territory). Security zones of at least zone two km wide and two km long are to be established in each sector. Disengagement has only been completed in Petrovskoye (October 7, 2016) and Zolotoye (October 1, 2016).

Nevertheless, the Ukrainian armed forces have been breaching the Framework agreement on the disengagement in Petrovskoe area since May 2018, according to the JCCC. Kiev troops advanced into the grey zone in the vicinity of Petrovskoye affecting the situation on the contact line.*ot
