Donetsk, Apr 21 - DAN. Letters over the shelling of Shakhtyorsk by Kiev gunmen on April 20 will be sent to international organizations in the nearest future, Donetsk People’s Republic ombudswoman Darya Morozova said on Thursday.
On April 20 evening, burning fragments of Ukrainian ammunition fell on a densely populated district of Shakhtyorsk killing a child and wounding four civilians including another child. They also damaged houses starting fires in the central market area.
“The missile strike at a peaceful town located deep in the rear; it tells much about Ukrainian army command “standards,” Morozova said. “I want to tell them that only cowards and terrorists compensate their defeats in fighting with defenseless population. We’ll certainly do everything possible towards making the criminals suffer the deserved punishment.”
The new act of aggression by the invaders violates Item 1, Article 3 of the Geneva Convention relative to the protection of civilian persons in time of war. “We’ll prepare the appropriate letters to international organisations in the nearest future. For my part, I express my sincere condolences to the family of the little angel. The Republic mourns with you,” the ombudswoman said.
Earlier on Thursday, the JCCC said that the enemy had used “Smerch” multiple rocket launchers to shell the town, firing four missiles from its positions in the Svetlodarsk area. Supposedly, the Shakhtyorsk oil depot was the target. *jk
