Donetsk, Aug 12 – DAN. DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova addressed the OSCE asking the organization to influence Ukrainian authorities to make their army abide by the Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire.

As the measures came into force two and a half weeks, 13 ceasefire violations and 27 measures violations were recorded on the Ukrainian side.

"In this connection, the DPR representative at the Contact Group sent a note to the OSCE SMM  leadership and the OSCE Chairperson's Special Representative Heidi Grau asking them to influence Ukrainian authorities to end violations of the Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire immediately and to control the active ceasefire signed by Ukraine's official representatives," the JCCC said.

The DPR also highlighted the failure of all the attempts to curb violations via the established communication channels between Donbass and Ukraine within the coordination mechanism.

"We hope for a soonest diplomatic solution, and that DPR People's Militia will not have to resort to extraordinary measures in accordance with the coordinated additional measures," the JCCC said.

The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”. The package came into effect on July 27. *ot
