Donetsk, Dec 20 — DAN. International organizations must give a legal assessment of Kiev artillery strikes at medical centers of the Donetsk People’s Republic, DPR ombudsperson Darya Morozova told the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
Earlier reports said that the Donetsk Clinical Territorial Medical Association (DoKTMO) has come under artillery fire several times in the past few days. On December 18, a projectile hit hospital block No 10 killing one patient and wounding several others.
“Purposeful strikes at hospitals, kindergartens and schools are nothing else than undisguised acts of genocide, ” Morozova said. “I’ve written the relevant letters to the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross. We demand that the international community finally articulate its clear position on the situation in Donbass and give a proper legal assessment of Kiev actions.”
DoKTMO is a top multi-purpose medical institute of the DPR. It has a modern diagnostic center, performs complex surgeries, provides child delivery services and saves the lives of artillery attack victims. Ukraine aims its “Grad” (MLRS) precisely at this facility. “The enemy not only violates the international humanitarian law but also ignores the basic norms of morality and humanity as the ‘civilized world’ silently approves, the DPR ombudsperson said.*jk
