Donetsk, Dec 21 – DAN. Donetsk and Lugansk have urged guarantors of the Minsk Agreements to involve in the settlement of the issue of Christmas ceasefire in Donbass.

The joint statement issued by DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova and LPR acting Foreign Minister Vladislav Deinego, representing their Republics at Minsk talks, reads that Donetsk and Lugansk "urge foreign ministries of Russia, Germany and France and the OSCE to do everything possible to bring Ukrainian authorities to their senses, and prevent negative scenario from happening on the territory of Donbass where six million people on both sides of the contact line might be affected."

There is still a possibility to coordinate the ceasefire, as video conference of the security subgroup of the Contact Group is scheduled for December 27.

"We confirm our commitment to the peace settlement within the framework of the Minsk Agreements and our readiness to negotiate. We still believe that there is no alternative to the Minsk Agreements as it is the only instrument to settle this internal Ukrainian conflict in Donbass." *ot
