Donetsk, Jul 10 - DAN. The package of additional measures to control the security situation in Donbass comprises seven provisions, the Donetsk People’s Republic envoy to the Minsk talks, DPR parliament speaker Denis Pushilin told the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“I’d like to remind that the draft of this document is the result of long and painstaking work of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine and that it was sent to the parties back in May,” Pushilin said.
The list comprises seven provisions: comprehensive confirmation of adherence to previously adopted measures to cease hostilities; publication and delivery of ceasefire orders at all levels, taking measures against ceasefire violations; bans on any offensive or reconnaissance operations and sniper fire; ban on shelling, including retaliatory, ban on deployment of heavy weapons in settlements and on delivery of aimed fire at infrastructure; provision of safe access to OSCE SMM patrols, he said.
“We don’t have illusions regarding Ukraine’s position on the Donbass conflict settlement or the methods which the Ukrainian government is prepared to employ,” the envoy said. “Nevertheless, the Republics are continuing to insist on signing the document which would provide for holding fire in practice and promptly responding to violations.”
Earlier, DPR representative at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov told the DAN that the DPR would demand the endorsement of an additional package of measures to control security situation in Donbass at the meeting of the security subgroup in Minsk.
The Contact Group for the Donbass settlement and its subgroups are due to meet in Minsk on July 11.*jk
